Free garden education
Thanks to Steve Schweigerdt for this tip from SF Parks Alliance. If you are involved with an urban greening project, you may be able to take free workshops from Garden for the Environment (located at 7th Avenue and Lawton). That's a $25 value.
Workshops cover irrigation, natural plant care, and many other topics. Find the workshop schedule online, select the class you would like to register for, then use the super secret promotional code: "parkpartner2013digin." Now you know!
New 311 app released
You've just run over the same pothole for the 10th time. When will it be filled?
The answer is "sooner, if you report it."
If you have a smartphone, the City has made it easier to do just that. The SF311 App is a way to get information about city services, and report and track quality of life issues such as graffiti, street light outages ... and that dang pothole.
An “alert” icon is your heads-up about utility problems, large events, traffic issues.
Download the Official SF311 app online or search for “SF311” in the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Android).
