Weekly market, disaster response planning, and gateway arts

Weekly market

Pop Up MARKET on Third is a weekly community market sponsored by Supervisor Malia Cohen, the Mayor's Office of Economic and Workforce Development, and Andrea Baker Consulting. Packaged foods from seven local artisans are featured.  The market operates on Thursdays at the recently launched MARKET on Third, owned by Dan Dodt and Linda Blacketer, located at 4634 3rd Street. Email Andrea Baker Consulting for more information.
Disaster response planning

Daniel Homsey at the Neighborhood Empowerment Network has sent out the "Resilient Bayview Program Guide." It's part of his Empower Communities Program, and is informed by four working groups determining how the "community should support its residents and key institutions during times of stress."  The project is funded by the SF Department of Public Health and the Walter and Elise Haas Fund.  Download the guide online.
Artists needed at Bayview's gateway
The Port of San Francisco's Bayview Gateway Project, a new one acre public open space planned for the southern bank of Islais Creek at the northern end of Bayview, will include a "large-scale permanent signature artwork," according to a Request for Proposals from the SF Arts Commission.

The artwork will represent the entry to the Bayview neighborhood, serve as a connection to the Bay Trail along Illinois Street and Cargo Way, and offer a resting place to view Islais Creek and beyond.
