Kudos to Mishwa Lee and other locals

Mishwa Lee, the driving force behind the Northridge CommUNITY Garden Volunteer of the Year, was named at SF Parks Alliance's Love Your Parks Day Celebration.  The honor comes with a $5,000 grant to her garden project.  Mishwa and others were celebrated at an event that featured bike powered music from Shake Your Peace.
BRITE, a Bayview advocacy group, tells Footprints it has been named one of nine new SF Travel Partners. As a Travel Partner, BRITE will have the opportunity to learn from professionals how to attract visitors to Bayview, how to present visitor highlights, how to include Bayview sights and tastes in official travel literature like maps, city guides and other marketing collateral. For more information, contact Alka Joshi.
Jeffrey Betcher received a Pollinator Award which will support the Quesada Gardens General Store project, and promote local entrepreneurs and products.  The unusual grant making program gives a $1,000 grant each day to boost progressive efforts to meet the needs of under-served communities and an environmentally-challenged planet.  The Quesada Gardens General Store builds on ten years of food production in Bayview, and the recent launch of a line of jams and sauces.
