The Harrison Family’s roots in Bayview Hunters Point run deep, and help connect everyone near the Quesada Gardens in Bayview to a better understanding of the challenges long-term residents in the neighborhood have faced through the years.
Marie Harrison is an environmental activist who played a lead role in shutting down a polluting electricity-generating plant on the waterfront. Husband Na’im Harrison provides violence prevention and reentry programming for formerly incarcerated men.
Along with daughter Arieanne and grandchildren Giovanni and Roman, the Harrison Family has lived on the Quesada Gardens block since 2006. They are respected neighbors who always find the time to participate in the life of their community. Plums from the Harrison’s backyard tree are used in the preserves that Quesada Gardens Initiative makes.
