A group calling itself Arts 94124 meets at Javalencia Cafe on Third at Fairfax to organize an art-related street fair. Servio (far left) and Mayra Gomez, are the business brains behind Javalencia, and introduced the idea of an art event that makes use of a room next door to the cafe. Several Shipyard artists such as Karen Slater and Jean Ebbes are involved alongside Bayview artists such as Juan Fuentes, Malik Seneferu, and Ron Saunders. The current plan is to block off the street beside the cafe on May 17th during Business Week when residents can also enjoy festivities at Bayview Business Resource Center's 4th Annual Shop-the-Block Festival at the Opera House.
Artists interested in being included can drop work off at Javalencia with Servio or Mayra. Matt Czajkowski (Mendellapt@sbcglobal.net) has also offered to facilitate getting anyone interested connected with the right folks.
