SFPD Captain John Loftus is the new commander of the Bayview Police Station, taking the reins from departing Captain Albert Pardini.
This Thursday at 6:30, you can meet Captain Loftus at the Upper Crust Deli on Third and Revere. Hear about his plans for our neighborhood, and ask him all your questions. And, while you're at it, try something yummy from the Upper Crust menu.
The event is part of Bayview Footprints Third Thursday series of community gatherings. Bayview Footprints is a collaboration of community-building groups that includes the Quesada Gardens Initiative.
The Collaboration's monthly public meeting falls on the third Thursday of every month, and typically involves a guest speaker or discussion topic as well as a new venue. The gatherings are meant to be both friendly and meaningful. Third Thursday offers participants an opportunity to contibute to important discussions, and introduces community spaces and businesses that may be new to some. Past events include a discussion about arts funding to the neighborhood, held at the library, and a discussion about the Better Streets Plan held at the Southeast Community Facility.
Bayview Footprints Collaboration of Community-Building Groups is determined that Bayview residents should be the ones to tell the neighborhood’s story of rich history and current strengths. In a time of change, residents should be respected as leaders who can make important contributions to the future vibrancy of our community. The Third Thursday series comes out of that commitment.
