- The Quesada Gardens Initiative has grown small acts of courage into a network of gardens, public art and gathering spaces in the heart of San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood … a place many had given up on. Beginning in 2002, fueled by diverse grassroots involvement, showcase projects now lace Quesada Avenue and 3rd Street to Bridgeview Drive at Newhall Street. Today, a place notorious for blight is a model of beauty and sustainability, and a popular destination point for people who want to understand community transformation that starts with the people instead of blueprints. Quesada Gardens Initiative maintains the BayviewFootprints.org Community Resource Hub, Bayview’s longest-running blog, and the bi-weekly community-building newsletter "Bayview Footprints Local News" (since 2008). I am glad to see people in the community stand together to build a safer street for our children. My sincere "Thank You" to the organizers and founders of this project. Street bumps and 4 ways STOP signs should be at all corners on Quesada Street, especially on Jennings and Quesada. Please add me in your list for new member of this Quesada Gardens community. My applause to the students of USF and Stanford for giving us hands to rebuild the beautiful BAYVIEW.
One new concern, as our blocks transform, and more families are moving in, street parking has become an issue. Does anyone has any suggestion to the office officials? Change to 90 degree parking like on 1600 Quesada and 3rd street? This is my thought on this. thank you
