The gathering drew about 100 Bayview friends and fans, and featured Bayview's own Speakeasy beer, donated by the brewery. Gift certificates donated by Bayview's Warehouse BBQ were given as prizes along with products from the new Quesada Gardens General Store which "popped up" at the event.
Local band Voxel wowed the crowd with two sets, while the residents behind All Good Pizza served up delicious food, and USF service-learning students provided volunteerism.
Quesada Gardens Board Members helped organize the event, and were in attendance. Vice President Chris Waddling, the primary event organizer, was joined by Kathy Looper, Joel and Mary McClure, Leah Pimentel, Mariano Tabios, Theo Ellington.
The Quesada Gardens General Store boasted products from the neighborhood including a line of jams and sauces created by Earl Shaddix for QGI from fruit that volunteers harvested in QGI members' backyards. Plants donated by Sunborne Nursery, T-shirts printed at Ashbury Images, and tote bags stitched locally from repurposed table cloths were also featured.
The event helped mark QGI's ten years of service to Bayview Hunters Point.
