Bayview HEAL Zone will continue to partner with the Bayview YMCA to offer Zumba classes at Joe Lee Rec Center on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 7pm. Zumba classes will continue through August 22 at the Rec Center, and then return to George Washington Carver Elementary School on August 29.

The Bayview HEAL Zone invites organizations that support physical activity and/or healthy food at community events in 94124 to apply for a mini grant. The event must take place between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013 and increase physical activity and healthy eating.

Organizations may apply for up to $1,500 for the HEAL Zone to co-sponsor an already existing event and fund the addition of physical activity and healthy eating. Up to $5,000 is available for organizations desiring to plan, organize, and carry out a HEAL Zone branded community event focused on physical activity and healthy eating.
