- The Quesada Gardens Initiative has grown small acts of courage into a network of gardens, public art and gathering spaces in the heart of San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood … a place many had given up on. Beginning in 2002, fueled by diverse grassroots involvement, showcase projects now lace Quesada Avenue and 3rd Street to Bridgeview Drive at Newhall Street. Today, a place notorious for blight is a model of beauty and sustainability, and a popular destination point for people who want to understand community transformation that starts with the people instead of blueprints. Quesada Gardens Initiative maintains the BayviewFootprints.org Community Resource Hub, Bayview’s longest-running blog, and the bi-weekly community-building newsletter "Bayview Footprints Local News" (since 2008). I've been meaning to visit the Quesada Garden... what time is it? Is there any special events scheduled for specific time, like the garden tour?
