Hurd, Lewis to occupy Reclaimed Room

Bayview Hunters Point's newest gallery space, Reclaimed Room, will show the work of Bayview artists Tony Hurd and Samuel Fleming Lewis.  The LIVING Show begins on Thursday, November 14th with an opening reception from 5 to 8pm.

Objects on display will include retro, recycled paper designs, full moon mirrors, living pods, yoga art and other work that explores materials reuse in art, and that re-imagines the place we live through a lens of history.

"Receptions at the Reclaimed Room are a fantastic opportunity to meet the team at Building REsources," says Reclaimed Room curator Soumyaa Behrens, "and to get an intimate view of the reused materials yard during non-business hours."

Reclaimed Room is nestled within Building REsources, the recycled materials business located on Cargo Way, just off 3rd Street.

The LIVING Show replaces a collection of work by Reddy Lieb and Roland Blandy who created functional and decorative art from re-purposed materials. The entire series of Reddy's work sold out before the show ended.

Pictured are a church pew barstool from oak and steel by Blandy, a banister lamp by Blandy, and a glass panels installation by Lieb.
