Gardening volunteer events and opportunities

It takes a lot of participation to keep community projects thriving. That's especially true for gardens which need tending each day.

Here are upcoming events at Quesada Gardens. Everyone is welcome!

Wednesday, August 27th from 10am to 1pm, our amazing University of San Francisco friends will be back on the block. This time, a group of about 20 freshmen will visit the project as part of their service learning orientation. They’ll help out with our work for a couple hours, and then we’ll have lunch.

Friday, August 29th from 2 – 5pm – A digital media company is bringing a group of volunteers to do a bit of work in the garden, then share some food.

Monday, September 1st (Labor Day) from 2pm to about 4pm, the Board of the Quesada Gardens Initiative is hosting an Ice Cream Social for the block. Please come, bring friends, and contribute anything sweet or savory that you’d like. Ice cream and toppings will be provided. The place is yet to be determined, but somewhere super close to you!

Wednesday, September 10th at 4:30, the Willie Mays Boys and Girls Club at Hunters Point will be at the Quesada Garden in force as part of their after school program.

Friday, September 12th at 6:30 is QGI's monthly QGI meeting. Email info@QuesadaGardens.org for more.

Sunday, September 14th volunteers from the SF Interfaith Council and Thanksgiving Coffee will be on the block to do work in the gardens. The fun starts around 10am.

ADDED NOTE: Karl Paige’s birthday is at the end of this month, and our Founders’ Memorial will be dedicated in the next 30 days or so (just not scheduled yet).
