Quesada Gardens Initiative
- It's what community looks like
- The Quesada Gardens Initiative has grown small acts of courage into a network of gardens, public art and gathering spaces in the heart of San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood … a place many had given up on. Beginning in 2002, fueled by diverse grassroots involvement, showcase projects now lace Quesada Avenue and 3rd Street to Bridgeview Drive at Newhall Street. Today, a place notorious for blight is a model of beauty and sustainability, and a popular destination point for people who want to understand community transformation that starts with the people instead of blueprints. Quesada Gardens Initiative maintains the BayviewFootprints.org Community Resource Hub, Bayview’s longest-running blog, and the bi-weekly community-building newsletter "Bayview Footprints Local News" (since 2008).
